After the sunshine for our Jubilee Concert in the Canal Basin last year, we were hoping for more of the same for our Coronation Concert this year. But we were out of synch with the weather this time and got the rainy day.
But fortunately all was not lost - Whaley Bridge has it's very own Concert Hall in the Canal Basin.
So we set up shop in dry of the Transhipment Warehouse thanks to our hosts, Whaley Bridge Canal Group.
Another full house, standing room only for late arrivals, and luckily for the very late arrivals, the predicted rain held off, as the the only space for them was outside.
As ever, an appreciative and enthusiastic Whaley audience. Celebrating a special occasion on home turf with our home crowd. Perfect! Thank you all for joining our celebration - without the audience it's just another band practise. It's the audience who make it a special occasion.

Rachel came back for more after her inaugural performance with the band at Kettleshulme (what a relief!) and another Tenor Horn player joined us for a few numbers today. Pippa is making a come back after a break of 50 (yes FIFTY) years since she played with WB Band as a youngster. Welcome back, Pippa.
Thank you to Derbyshire County Council and our WB councillor Ruth George, for sponsoring our Coronation Concert. We are very grateful for their support which meant the concert was free for everyone to attend.
And last but not least, thank you to all our guest players who helped us on the day - Clare on Sop (a double helping for Clare who also played with us at Kettleshulme) Mike on Cornet boosting the front row, John on Euph and Chris on Eb Bass. We couldn't have done it without you.
