Whaley Bridge Learner Band secured a win at their first ever contest at the Whiston Festival of Brass and Real Ale back in July. Playing without the help of any senior band members, the band won first place with a well-rehearsed programme of 'True and Trusty', 'Do-Re-Mi' and 'Swinging Safari'.
Following their success, the band is changing its name and will now be known as Whaley Bridge Training Band. Rehearsals will now take place every Thursday from 5.30pm - 6.30pm in the Mechanics Institute, Whaley Bridge.
New players of any age group are always welcome and instruments are provided.
