We had a lovely, if breezy, afternoon playing in Buxton Pavilion Gardens on 19th July. Sheila Walton conducted the band as we played some great concert favourites including Teddy Bear's Picnic, All That Jazz and Cruella De Ville. Sarah Tolley on euphonium was our soloist for the day, and performed the beautiful solo 'Myfanwy'.

Thanks go to Lou, Rhianne, Fearghas and Javan for helping us out on the cornet, bass and percussion sections, and to Sheila for her hard work choosing our programme and conducting us.

It was another glorious day in Whaley Bridge as the Memorial Park was officially opened on July 4th, following restoration thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Big Lottery Fund. Whaley Bridge Band kicked off proceedings with conductor for the occasion Robert Dixon taking the audience on a world tour, with music from Ireland, Spain, Russia and New Zealand to name a few! 

Thanks to Lou and Rhianne for helping us out on cornet, Javan for being our kit player for the day, and Robert Dixon for conducting (and providing an entertaining rendition of 'The Ugly Duckling'!)
