Chatsworth

Yet more sunshine for the Band's Saturday afternoon concert at Chatsworth House.  There were lots of people in the gardens, young and old as well as those in between, who were very appreciative of everything we played. The children's chorus was amazing singing along to Three Lions, our tribute to the England World Cup football team.

And an extra item when Laurie was pressed into service for an impromptu Happy Birthday.  With so many people listening it was inevitable that it was someone's birthday.  The only trouble with such a big crowd is the queue for ice creams in the interval - but that's a nice problem to have!

Many thanks to Russell, Lynne and Mike for helping us out.

And now a well earned fortnight's break from rehearsals after our busy summer schedule.  Back on 15th August to start work on our autumn programme.

And the sun shone yet again, perfect weather for playing in the park.  An earlier start than usual for a Sunday afternoon in the Pavilion Gardens, so that our fans could watch football as well as hear us play.

Thank you to the audience for donating so generously, and to our guest players for their support: Andy and Eddie on cornet, Russell on Flugel, Jamie -all the way from Uttoxeter - on baritone, and Simon on bass.

A great day out!
